Regimen for management of Trido–a

In addition to above, ¶yurveda gives a specific detailed prescription for alleviating Trido–a in order to maintain a healthy body and mind.

Regimen for management of VÈta

If an individual of vÈta constitution resorts to such things as are aggravators of vÈta, vÈta in his body gets aggravated soon. The following regimen is prescribed for reconciliation of vÈta.

1.  Proper administration of oil message and sweating.

2.  Mild purgative prepared with substances of fatty and hot nature as well as  sweet, sour and saline taste.

3.  Food having ingredients of above mentioned properties.

4.  Massage, poultices, bandage, kneading, affusion, bath, pressing and massaging by hand, pressing, terrorizing, surprising, and dememorising.

5.  Use of Èsavas and fermented drinks

6. Fats taken from different sources mixed with substances having digestive, stimulant, carminative, vÈta-alleviating and purgative propeties to be prepared on fire hundred or thousand times for being administered in different ways, viz. internal use, massage and enema etc.

Regimen for management of pitta constitution

If an individual of pitta constitution resorts to such things as are aggravators of pitta, pitta in his body gets aggravated soon. The following regimen is prescribed for reconciliation of pitta.

1.  Intake of ghee

2.  Massage by Ghee

3.  Purgation

4.  Use of foodstuffs having sweet, bitter and astringent tastes and cooling property.

5.  Use of herbal perfumes which are mild, sweet, fragrant, cooling and cordial.

6. Use of necklace made of pearls, jewels and garlands which are kept in frozen water. 

7.  Hearing of songs and music which are pleasing to ears, mild, sweet and agreeable.

8.  Hearing the information of prosperity.

9.  Keeping company of friends.

10.Company of women folk one likes, wearing cooling garments and garlands.

11.Residing in a building which is cooled by moon-rays and exposed to the breezes from all side.

12.Residig in cold places in mountains and river banks, use of cold apparel and exposure to cold winds.

13. Going for a stroll in beautiful gardens having pleasing, cold and fragrant air.

14.Use of flowers of padma, utpala (blue lotus), nalina (type of lotus), kumuda (white water lily), Saugandhika (variety of lotus), pu‡Çrika (another variety of lotus) and „atapatra (yet another variety of lotus).

Regimen for management of pitta constitution

If an individual of kapha constitution resorts to such things as are aggravators of kapha, kapha in his body gets aggravated soon. The following regimen is prescribed for reconciliation of kapha.

1.  Proper administration of strong and hot pa¤cakarma therapy.

2.  Intake of diet which is mostly ununctuous and is composed of ingredients having pungent, bitter and astringent tastes.

3.  Running, joumping, swimming, whirling, keeping awake during night, fighting, sexual intercourse, physical excercises, oil massage, bath and unction.

4.  Fasting

5.  Use of warm apparel

6.  Giving up comforts of life with a view to enjoy happiness ultimately.
